Why QitOS v0.5 Ships Desktop First

QitOS v0.5 does not try to win every multimodal category at once.

It makes one bet:

ship one complete desktop / computer-use path before broadening scope

That means:

• one official desktop benchmark family
• one canonical baseline agent
• one qita visual debugging workflow
• one clear docs/tutorial story

We call it an OSWorld-compatible starter very deliberately.

It is compatible in structure and research workflow. It is not yet claiming full official OSWorld dataset or runtime parity.

That boundary is important because it keeps the release honest:

• strong enough for real research starting points
• narrow enough to stay coherent
• extensible enough for v0.6 replay depth and richer governance
